Come root on your neighborhood Newark Bears as they vie for a chance for the 2009 playoffs in the Atlantic League Wild Card Race! The Bears have had a great season with 14 players being signed to Major League affiliates, celebrity guests and now the chance to make it to playoffs. But it's not all about baseball at the Bears & Eagles Riverfront Stadium. The games are great for the whole family with special discounts like "Dollar Ticket & Dollar Dogs" and community events like Red Cross Day on the 3rd and Paws & Claws Day on the 4th for your furry friends. They also have an exhibit from the Negro League Museum on site, which chronicles, among other things, Newark’s history in opening doors for minorities in sports.
